About
Hi, I am Stephanie, but you can call me Stephy. I am 24 and consider myself to be a houseplant enthusiast.
At least 5+ years ago I received my first houseplants, a Dracena Marginata and a Cephalocereus Senilis (the old man cactus). Having little to no plant knowledge, it is safe to say they didn’t quite make it (oops, poor things!) and I still had quite a lot to learn. But all hope was not lost, this was the beginning of an incredible journey which encouraged my passion for plants to truly flourish. My current houseplant collection mainly consists of a variety of Cacti, Monstera, Philodendron, Ficus and Hoya (amongst some other plant varieties).
During study for my degree in photography, I realised a lot about myself. Through research, I learnt of the importance of understanding ‘the self’ and mindfulness, I noticed that houseplants offered this solace. The decision to merge houseplants and photography was unquestionable; I find it important to share my journey, whilst offering my perspective of documenting the beauty and intrigue of colours, textures, shapes, growth and development of plants. If my plant photography can provide a momentary sense of calm during a busy day that is wonderful.
STEPHY STARS PLANTS is my newest adventure, where I am dedicated to share all my plant-related knowledge, photography and video content. With a growing collection of 45+ houseplants, alongside various propagation projects, it is safe to say that my space is quickly transforming into a houseplant haven and urban jungle. I am thoroughly enjoying the experience, to stay up-to-date with my adventures and for all of the latest updates be sure to check out my instagram page. To view my other photo adventures, click the "Other Photography" button below.
